I had high hopes for this piece. As I finally undertook it, though, I realized how monumentally boring this task was. Suffice it to say that 2008 was yet another year where the lions share of critical kudos went to completely safe, predictable and bland music. Absolutely nothing pictured below did anything to change or challenge the artistic paradigm in which they operated. Yes, that includes Lil Wayne.
There’s many, many more that could’ve been displayed here but I honestly got tired of grabbing album covers for them all. I could’ve filled a photo album with them, though.
It’s a wonder I didn’t sleep through the entire year.
